Delete the Recycle Bin

My Desktop ScreenieToday, I wanted to maximize/minimize my Windows XP desktop experience. I’ve been seeing a lot of people post their desktop configurations, and I wanted to spice mine up some more.  I decided I really didn’t need 2 recycle bin icons, because I already have one floating on my RocketDock bar.

To delete your Recycle bin from your Desktop. Follow these instructions.

1. Open Registry Editor by going to  start -> Run, then typing ‘regedit’ and [enter].

2. In the Registry Editor, browse to [ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace ]

3. Locate the {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} key.

4. Delete the key, and hang tight while the Recycle Bin will automatically dissapear. (No reboot is needed)
