g-mail gets groovy

Gmail LogoThere’s been alot of talk going on with g-mail lately, and I like it! I’ve been using g-mail along side of corey@schario.net for about 2 years now. I’m still only using 5% of the space supplied, and I store everything! The development team over at google must be pretty busy! In the last 2 weeks I’ve seen 3 great “add-ons” that I’m using everyday now.

The first and most obvious is the ability to change your inbox theme. They have tons of great designs, I personally like the Shiny theme. I was using the Mozilla firefox plugin stylish, to make my g-mail look the way I wanted, but now it’s just two clicks away! Settings -> Themes.

My next favorite feature by google, is the e-mail notifier. Now instead of checking my g-mail account 20 times a day, I can sit back, relax, and check as they pile in from my desktop!

Finally, google had the right mind to create a Task option for g-mail users. Now like outlook and other e-mail platforms, g-mail gives you the option to create To-Do lists within the e-mail. This is very important to me, because often I’m scheduling appointments right from my inbox.

Thanks google, for making our computing lives easier. Also, please remove the BETA from your logo, it’s a bit deceiving, considering the density this application packs.
